Friends of Horses Rescue and Adoption offers weekly summer camps for children ages 7 – 13. Those older and horse-savvy may volunteer to help with the summer camp as a community service activity to add to their college applications (prior approval and volunteer service required).

Summer campThis years camp will run from June 9th to August 11th, 9am to 4pm, Monday thru Friday.

Some of the activities include:

feeding horses
grooming horses
learning about the horses anatomy (they have done a fun paint-the-horse-parts in the past and then given the horse a bath)
riding lessons (daily)
gymkhana (barrel racing/walking, poles, flags)
crafts (tie-dye shirts, decorating horseshoes)
and yes, they even get to muck stalls and clean the barn.
It will be an exciting week, that kids generally want to repeat, so sign up early.

Send us an email or call 303-649-1155 to make your reservations. Space is limited. No previous experience with horses is required and advanced riders will be accommodated.
